Your experience in the Homicide School will include but is not limited to:
HOMICIDE / SUICIDE LAW
A review of homicide, murder, manslaughter and justifiable homicide laws.
CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATIONS
You will receive training in the finer details of crime scene investigations and the special considerations in dealing with death investigations.
BLOOD SPATTER INTERPRETATION
You will learn the characteristics of blood in motion, cast-off, impact spatter stains, gunshot spatter, projected blood, contact patterns, bloody object trails and much more. You will learn, by recognizing patterns in blood, how to determine a general source of origin (location of victim and suspect) that can help you determine the truth of a suspect's story. You will learn to tell the difference between your suspect/witness being near the blood, or being the cause of it. You will be able to tell if an assault was truly mutual combat or a one-sided attack - all by merely looking at the blood left behind.
FORENSIC PATHOLOGY
You will study the cause, manner and type of deaths in a homicide or suicide. Be able to distinguish between typical gunshot wounds, knife wounds, ligature strangulation and blunt force injuries. Students will learn valuable information about defensive wounds, self-inflicted wounds and unusual wounds found at death investigations.
